HK Systems Warranty Policy
Warranty Adjustment
HK Systems guarantees its parts to carry a warranty for the periods mentioned below. HK Systems will repair or replace any parts deemed defective. Warranty may involve repairing defective parts/components and does not imply that defective parts/components will be replaced with new. This Warranty does not cover failure due to physical damage, modification, improper handling, improper use, or improper installation. HK Systems reserves the right to make this determination.
New and Replacement Part Warranty
HK Systems warrants all new parts to be free of defects for a period of 90 days from the date of purchase.
New System Part Warranty
New system parts are covered under warranty for a period of one year from date of acceptance unless other coverage is specifically defined and agreed upon, in writing, by HK Systems.
Repair Warranty
HK Systems warrants all repairs to be free from defect for the time periods specified below. This warranty is limited to components previously repaired and is not extended, as in the case of repaired assemblies or systems, to unrelated component failure.
- HK Systems warrants all repairs on Indramat and Control Technique drives for a period of one year from date of repair.
- HK Systems warrants all repairs to Hurth AGV Drive motors and gearboxes for a period of one year from date of repair.
- HK Systems warrants all other repairs for a period of 90 days from date of repair.
Returning Parts
Return Authorization – Guidelines and Procedures for Parts and Repairs
Returning parts for warranty or repair is easy! Contact your Parts Planner for a Return Authorization number.
* Parts will not be accepted without an RA number *
The RA number must appear on the outside of the shipping package or the material may be sent back.
Returning Parts under Warranty
To issue a Warranty Return Authorization number your Parts Planner will require the following information:
- HK Part number
- Serial number
- Detailed description of reason for return
- Purchase order number the part was purchased or previously repaired on
Returning Parts for Test and Repair
To issue a Test and Repair Return Authorization number your Parts Planner will require the following information:
- Purchase order or Credit card number
- HK Part number
- Serial number
- Detailed description of the failure
- When returning items for Test and Repair please include serial numbers and a full description of the problem and any other information that you feel will aid in the repair process.
- When returning Indramat drives for repair please include the Personality Module. We sometimes find that the problem is in the personality module and a complete unit will assure us that your problem has been resolved.
Returning Parts for Replacement or Adjustment
A restocking fee of 20% of the purchase price of an item will be charged for returning material to HK Systems’ inventory (new material only). Printed circuit boards and electronic components must be unopened and in the original packaging. Items will be accepted for restocking for 90 days from date of purchase. Contact your Parts Planner to obtain a RA number for return items.
Special ordered parts are non-returnable and non-refundable.

Exchange Repairs
Certain repair items qualify for our exchange repair program, these items are denoted in the catalog by a price in the EXCHANGE column. Here’s how it works.
- When you call for an RA number your Parts Planner will let you know if the repair item qualifies for the exchange program
- When we receive your item we will inspect it for a repairable core
- If the item is repairable we will ship a refurbished or a new item as a replacement within 48 hours
Traditional repair service is still available for these items. If you elect not participate in the Exchange Program your Parts Planner will advise you on price and turn-around times.
